The overriding purpose of this regatta is to assist the preparation of the NZL Yachting Trust Youth Team towards the ISAF Youth Worlds. In addition to this an opportunity for youth classes who are preparing for their respective world championships. For these reasons the regatta is being promoted as a “coaching regatta” which in essence will not limit approved coaches from being on the course or speaking to sailors during racing. In the interests of providing an event with great relevance to the pinnacle event changes may be made to the NOR & SI’s on the water, at the discretion of the pro with guidance from lead coaches. Sailors who enter acknowledge and accept these terms.

 

 

Notice of Race

1.0     Rules

1.1     The regatta will be governed by the ‘rules’ as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing 2009-2012.

1.2     The Yachting New Zealand Safety Regulations Part 1 shall apply

 

2.0     Eligibility and Entry

2.1     The regatta is open to Laser 4.7, Laser Radial, Laser ,420.

2.2     Entries will be accepted until 1030 hrs Saturday 27th June 2009, by completing the attached entry form accompanied by a fee of $25.00.

2.3     Late entries, may be accepted at the Race Committee’s discretion.

2.4     To be eligible to compete in these Series each skipper shall be a financial member of a member club of Yachting New Zealand.

2.5     Each helmsperson shall also be a financial member of its respective Class Association.

 

3.0     Schedule of Events

3.1     Briefing:

3.3     Racing Schedule:

          The scheduled time of the warning signal for Race 1 is 1130 hours on Sat & 10.30hrs Sun.

          Saturday Up to 4 back to back races are scheduled

Sunday 3 back to back races are scheduled

          A total of 7 races are scheduled.

          No race shall start after 1530 hours on Sunday 28 June.

 

4.0     Sailing Instructions

          The Sailing Instructions will available to competitors at Registration.

 

5.0     Racing Area

          The races will be held in the waters off Murrays Bay.

 

6.0     Courses to be Sailed

          The courses will be Windward/Leeward , Trapezoids.

 

7.0     Scoring

7.1     The Low-Points scoring system of Appendix A will apply.

7.2    3 races will be required to be completed to constitute a series.

7.3    A boat’s worst score will be excluded when 6 races have been completed
