Auckland
Weather

Auckland
has a generally mild coastal climate which is prone
to sudden changes - "four seasons in one day" is
not unusual. During the months of December and
January the weather is typically changeable, with
warm daytime temperatures between 20 -
26°C,
and a monthly rainfall of around 70mm. NZ has a
prevailing wind blowing over it from west to east
year round, ranging from gentle, freshening breezes
to stronger winter winds. Coming across the Tasman
Sea, this breeze is relatively warm and moisture
laden, however when it comes up from the south west
it is colder, gusty and dryer. During summer
Auckland's Hauraki Gulf often experiences a north
easterly seabreeze as the land warms up.
